Upon booking the trip, we require a $100.00 US deposit via PayPal. We utilize PayPal for the security of our clients and ourselves. Cash payment is due at the dock on the day of fishing. We cannot confirm a reservation without a deposit payment.
We supply all fishing gear should you not bring your own; however, feel free to bring your gear and flies if you are able. We recommend www.discountflies.com should you wish to purchase flies and similar equipment.
The sun is intense on the water of Isla Blanca and we recommend you bring appropriate clothing and sun protection and polarized sunglasses, preferably in an amber/orange color to better see fish on the flats. Do not forget your camera.
Isla Blanca is not a wading fishery in most circumstances and fishing will be done from the deck of our custom, 18’ Pangas with poling platforms. Should you need appropriate wading shoes given the changing conditions throughout the year, we will notify you in advance.
We are only able to provide transport to our clients from the Cancun Hotel Zone given the distance to Isla Blanca. Should you need transport services from hotels in Puerto Morelos or Playa del Carmen, we would be glad to provide recommendations for you.
If we decide to cancel the trip due to bad weather, your money deposit and/or payment will be refunded in whole. We cannot always guarantee perfect weather for fishing and any cancellations are at our discretion. That being said, we strive to do what is right and if we think we cannot put you on fish due to weather, we would rather cancel the trip than give you a trip with little chance of success.
Should you need to contact us, the best option is through our email or on the website. When we are on the water, it is hard to answer telephone calls. We assure you that we will respond quickly to your emails. Please check your spam or junk mail folder to ensure that you receive our correspondence in case you do not receive a response immediately.
We also have U.S. telephone numbers here in Cancun should we need to speak to us directly. Upon booking your trip, we will provide you with local, Cancun telephone numbers as well as U.S. telephone numbers should you need to contact us.
We recommend an 8 wt fly rod for most fishing in Isla Blanca but a 9 wt rod works well in windy conditions. Some of our clients use 7 wt rods and do well. It all depends upon your experience and comfort level.
Should you have any questions about your trip, please let us know and we’ll offer our advice and experience. We are here to make your trip the best we can.
